पाठ्यक्रम SYLLABUS

इकाई I : लिंग मुद्दों की प्रमुख अवधारणाएँ
- अवधारणाएँ, शब्दावली और उनके संदर्भ को समझना – जैसे लिंग, सेक्स, कामुकता, पितृसत्ता; पौरुष और नारीवाद।
  लिंग पक्षपात, लिंग आधारित रूढ़िबद्ध धारणाएँ और सशक्तिकरण।
- पितृसत्ता, शक्ति, संसाधन और अवसर।

इकाई II : लिंग का सामाजिक निर्माण
- परिवार और विद्यालय में समाजीकरण, व्यवसाय और पहचान,
  समाज, मीडिया और साहित्य में महिलाओं के बारे में प्रचलित रूढ़िबद्ध धारणाएँ।
- लिंग और उसका गरीबी, वर्ग, जाति, धर्म के साथ अंतःसंबंध।

इकाई III : लिंग, शक्ति और शिक्षा
- लिंग पहचान और समाजीकरण की प्रक्रियाएँ :
  परिवार, विद्यालय और अन्य औपचारिक एवं अनौपचारिक संस्थान।
- बालिकाओं की स्कूली शिक्षा : असमानताएँ और प्रतिरोध (सुलभता, नामांकन और बहिष्करण से संबंधित मुद्दे),
  उत्तर प्रदेश के विशेष संदर्भ सहित भारत में बालिका शिक्षा का अवलोकन।

इकाई IV : लिंग न्यायशास्त्र (भारतीय संदर्भ में)
- परिवार, पड़ोस और अन्य औपचारिक एवं अनौपचारिक संस्थानों में यौन उत्पीड़न को संबोधित करने के महत्व की समझ।
- प्रसव पूर्व नैदानिक तकनीक अधिनियम, 1994; घरेलू हिंसा अधिनियम, 2005; 
  महिलाओं के लिए आरक्षण, ट्रांसजेंडर के संबंध में सर्वोच्च न्यायालय का निर्णय।

Unit I : Key concepts of Gender Issues
- Concepts, terms and relate them with their context in understanding the power relation to gender, sex, sexuality, patriarchy; masculinity and feminism. Gender bias, gender stereotyping and empowerment.
- Patriarchy, power, resources and opportunities.

Unit II : Social Construction of Gender
- Socialization in family and at school, Occupation and identity, Stereotypes about females prevalent in the society, media and literature.
- Gender and its intersection with poverty, class, caste, religion.

Unit III : Gender, Power and Education
- Gender identities and socialization practices in : Family, School and other formal and informal organization.
- Schooling of girls : Inequalities and resistances (issues of access, retention and exclusion), Overview of girl education in India with special reference to U.P.

Unit IV : Gender Jurisprudence (Indian context)
- Understanding the importance of addressing sexual harassment in family, neighborhood and other formal and informal institutions.
- Prenatal Diagnostic Technique Act, 1994; Domestic Violence Act, 2005, Reservation for Women, Supreme Court Verdict about transgender.
